The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) has recently released the world's first international standard for bamboo structures, titled “Bamboo Structures — Glued Laminated Bamboo — Product Specifications” (ISO 7567:2024). The standard was proposed by the International Bamboo and Rattan Organization (INBAR) and led by Prof. Li Haitao of Nanjing Forestry University and Prof. Mahmud Ashraf of Deakin University, Australia. It involved the participation of Fujian Dasso Industry Co., Ltd. and Hangzhou Dasuo Technology Co., Ltd. The publication of this standard marks a significant step toward the standardization of bamboo in structural applications and will provide vital technical support for the sustainable development of the global bamboo industry.
ISO 7567:2024 specifies the technical requirements for structural bamboo lumber, covering the entire process from raw material selection, production techniques, performance testing and quality assessment. As a key participant in the development of this standard, dasso leveraged its extensive experience in bamboo material development and application, providing significant support for both the scientific and practical aspects of the standard’s implementation.

As an active participant in the international standardization of China's bamboo industry, dasso has significantly contributed to the development of several key international standards over the years:
l"Bamboo Product Terminology" (ISO 21625:2020), which established foundational specifications for the industry.
l"Bamboo Flooring — Part 1: Indoor Use" (ISO 21629-1:2021), promoting the standardization of bamboo flooring in the global market.
l"Bamboo Structures — Glued Laminated Bamboo — Product Specifications" (ISO 7567:2024), which has been officially released, filling the gap in international standards for bamboo used in construction, bridges, and other structural applications.
As one of the core participating enterprises, dasso will continue to drive technological innovation in bamboo materials and support the global bamboo industry in advancing towards a new era of standardization, high-end applications, and environmental sustainability.
