National University of Singapore
The National University of Singapore, designed by MKPL Architects & Sasaki, has developed a vision for the NUS campus vision based on eight central design goals: 1) create a strong sense of belonging with a special focus on student life; 2) create a memorable sense of arrival and public domain; 3) involve Kent Ridge as part of the student life experience; 4) foster campus connectivity; 5) respond to context, climate, topography, heritage buildings and Asian culture; 6) integrate sustainability; 7) program adaptation needs promote student-staff interaction; and 8) progressively plan the feasible development phases, with short-term (5 years) transformation projects. 13,000 m² of bamboo dasso ceiling was installed in 2013.
