The National University of Singapore (NUS) campus, designed by MKPL Architects and Sasaki, was guided by eight key design goals: establishing a distinct sense of place focused on student life; creating a memorable arrival and public realm; integrating Kent Ridge into student experience; enhancing campus connectivity; responding to local context, climate, heritage, and culture; incorporating sustainability; accommodating program needs to promote student-staff interaction; and planning achievable development phases with near-term transformative projects. In 2013, 130,000 sq.ft of Dasso bamboo ceiling was installed.
